Lawrence Associates was started in 1995 by Garry Lawrence. Based in Perth, Western Australia, Lawrence Associates has worked on a wide variety of projects from affluent home renovations to a $500 million 720 house development in Dubai.

In the last 4 years, Lawrence Associates has moved away from the traditional physical office in favour of a cloud based digital office environment. With high speed internet freely available anywhere in the world cloud based file systems and backups, our staff can easily remain in contact, work on the same projects and share ideas even with challenging time zone differences. Lawrence Associates has been featured in a number of publications, most recently in The Architect 2015 Spring edition discussing our work on the Pangaea nightclub in India and our cloud office environment.

In our projects you will see several exciting large scale projects we have initiated and nurtured through sometimes difficult challenges to be where they are today as valuable opportunities for our clients. My big issues are community, heritage, sustainability and commercial reality. Balancing work, family and life is close to my heart, so also important to me is my family, violin, surf-ski, motorbike, first manuscript, and the theatre, such as directing ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf’  at the Old Mill Theatre in October 2012.

My entire working life, after farming in Wyalkatchem, has been spent in the Building and Construction industry. My background experience as Regional Manager of a multinational, the diverse industry design and management types, and the project management including a major project in Dubai has formed a very solid foundation for our business to produce innovation and credibility for the new era of Australian design identity.

Kristian Lawrence

I am interested in all aspects of design – from graphic design, to architecture to furniture. I have a Bachelor of Environmental Design (architecture) from UWA and have been working in the industry for 8 years at varying levels.

I am married and just recently became a proud father of daughter number 2. I am currently working part-time as a Marketing Technologist.

Since starting with my Dad, Garry, at Lawrence Associates, it has been an eye opening experience into the world of global business management and relationship development. The current portfolio for the business has allowed him to stretch his architectural muscles in a world class level of design and project management, making it easy to approach projects with confidence of a reliable outcome of the highest quality.

I have a background in customer service, culminating in the management of a national IT Service Desk, servicing large scale corporate and government contracts. Since then, my focus has been in the arts, and self-improvement. Most of my experience is in musical theatre, but I have also been cultivating my skills in blacksmithing and prop making. Due to my extensive experience in building relationships and community engagement, I am uniquely prepared to provide advocacy services that allow Lawrence Associates to be acutely aware of community needs and sensitivities. My main objective is to make sure that design and development phases are conducted in conjunction with the collaboration and support of indigenous peoples, and that their confidence in our engagement is strengthened through our strong sense of integrity.
